Advanced Optical Dispensing

This course equips opticians with communication skills, dispensing strategies and the mindset needed to elevate the patient experience and practice performance. Participants will explore the power of purpose by understanding their ‘why,’ gain insight into the psychology behind buying and selling and develop techniques to build stronger connections through effective communication. This course will also cover approaches to increase multiple-pair sales and how to confidently handle patient objections. Learners will also be introduced to the 2% mindset, the 3 aspects of every transaction, learn how to identify and attract their ideal customers and implement strategies to increase capture rate by focusing on quality interactions rather than quantity.

Vision Therapy: Transforming Visual Function Beyond 20/20
Dr. Olga Savitska, OD, FOVDR
Discover how vision therapy uses sophisticated tools, including therapeutic prisms, lenses, polarization glasses, red-green filters and computerized systems, to treat functional vision problems that glasses alone cannot fix. Learn to identify patients who may benefit, including children with learning difficulties, post-concussion and post-stroke patients and individuals with strabismus and amblyopia. This lecture will equip opticians with essential knowledge to recognize red flags, support patients undergoing treatment and make appropriate referrals as a crucial member of the eye care team.
