Dr. Rami Aboumourad is a practicing optometrist who specializes in comprehensive and emergency eye care. He attended optometry school at the University of Houston College of Optometry and then post-graduate residency training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Following residency training, he served as clinical assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas before returning to Bascom Palmer. Dr. Aboumourad has a passion for detection and early identification of ocular disease and has a particular interest in management of systemic diseases and syndromes that have ophthalmic manifestations such as hypertension, diabetes and autoimmune disease. Dr. Aboumourad is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, Florida Optometric Association, Miami-Dade Optometric Physician Association, Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
