Dr. Jarkas received her Optometry degree from the University of Montreal (2006) and has since practiced in multiple clinical settings ranging from commercial to private practices including academic settings. She is residency-trained in Primary Care with an emphasis in Ocular Disease from the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry (Florida, USA) and was invited to join the faculty as an assistant professor (2014-2016). She continues to hold an active license to practice in Florida. In addition, she has volunteered on several VOSH missions globally where she shared her knowledge with optometry students and provided eyecare to underserved communities as well as administer eye exams for athletes of the Special Olympics. Dr. Jarkas is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry (ABO). She currently practices in Montreal, Quebec where she continues to lecture, mentor, consult and educate students at her Alma Mater.
