Dr. Fariba Nazemi was born and raised in Iran where she completed seven years of medical school at the Medical Sciences University of Iran in Tehran. She went on to complete a four-year Ophthalmology residency at the Medical Sciences University of Iran and later worked as a general Ophthalmologist and Assistant Professor at the Medical University of Avesina, Hamedan-Iran for one year. Upon moving back to Tehran, Dr. Nazemi worked as a general Ophthalmologist and lectured at Shahid Beheshti Medical School for two years. She then immigrated�to�Canada�and�accepted�into�the International Medical Graduate Program (IMG) at the University of Toronto, where she completed a year of clerkship, a year of internship and redid her four-year Ophthalmology residency. In 2008 she completed a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Nazemi currently serves as Staff Ophthalmologist at Mount Sinai Hospital and Lecturer at the University of Toronto, Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences. She is also Associate Staff at the Hospital for Sick Children, North York General and Humber River Hospitals and Staff Ophthalmologist at William Osler Hospital in Brampton, Ontario.
