David Black

Dr. David Black graduated from York University in 2000 with an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Psychology. He then graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2004. For 20 years, Dr. Black has been at the cutting edge of ocular surgical technology through working part-time at the world-renowned Bochner Eye Institute, alongside the likes of Dr. Ray Stein, Dr. Fatima Gillani, Dr. Rebecca Stein and Dr. Nancy Tucker. At Bochner, Dr. Black provides post-surgical care for patients who have undergone LASIK, PRK, ICL, cataract surgery and corneal collagen crosslinking. During his time there, he has gained expertise in the various surgical options available and determining which patients are best suited to each procedure, in addition to managing post-surgical issues. Dr. Black splits his time practicing comprehensive primary Optometry at one of Toronto’s leading Primary Eye Care Clinics, Eyes on Sheppard. At Eyes on Sheppard, his interests include Glaucoma Management, Myopia Control, Prism correction of ocular misalignments both large and small that can enhance patients’ visual comfort and reduce headaches and eyestrain. Outside the office, Dr. Black enjoys running with his dog Max, playing and following sports with his son, attending his talented daughter’s dance recitals and spending quiet time with his wife, especially by the water when their busy schedules allow.
