Dr. Ieraci obtained her Optometry Doctorate from the School of Optometry of the University of Montreal in 1994. She then completed a Masters in Physiological Sciences in 1998. She has been practicing at the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic (IOC) since it was founded in 1998. It is a private clinic specializing in corneal refractive laser surgery and intraocular surgery. She started out as a senior optometrist, working closely with ophthalmologists during the preoperative and postoperative assessment of patients. Since 2008, she has been appointed Director of Professional Services and supervises a multidisciplinary team of optometrists, opticians and registered nurses. She has helped develop an interactive co-management system between the IOC and a network of more than 400 optometrists across the province, providing patient centered care, before, during and after surgery. IOC is one of the first models in Canada bringing together the three vision professionals: ophthalmologists, optometrists and opticians. The clinic was chosen as an internship center by the School of Optometry of the University of Montreal. Over the years, Dr. Ieraci has developed expertise in the field of refractive surgery, regularly acting as a lecturer in continuing education for various professional organizations and industry suppliers.
