Dr. Beeran Meghpara is a member of the Cornea Service at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea, cataract, and laser refractive surgery. Dr. Meghpara performs all forms of corneal transplantation, including partial thickness DMEK and DALK. He has extensive experience with the latest technology in cataract surgery including the femtosecond laser and advanced technology intraocular lens implants that correct astigmatism and presbyopia. He also specializes in blade-less customized LASIK, advanced surface ablation, and phakic intraocular lens surgery to help patients reduce their dependence on glasses and contacts. As a corneal specialist, Dr. Meghpara also treats corneal infections and ocular surface diseases like dry eye. Dr. Meghpara graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine. After residency, Dr. Meghpara completed a fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery at the University of Colorado. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and has a faculty appointment at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He has authored numerous articles and delivered lectures at local and national meetings. He is actively involved in teaching ophthalmology residents on the Cornea Service at Wills Eye Hospital and also covers trauma call at the Wills Eye Emergency Room.
