When assisting the elderly, ECPs can do a lot to help enhance their visual experience and improve their quality of life by providing optical solutions to their subjective complaints. The process begins by understanding the milestones these patients have endured overtime, and a little empathy goes a long way. This course examines the top eye disorders the aging eye experiences and what we can offer to ease their visual discomfort.

Explaining Dry Eyes and Treatment Options to Patients: My Patients are Educated

This course is designed to assist opticians in explaining dry eye treatments and procedures to their patients in terms that they can relate to. We will go over good anatomy terminology, ocular surface diseases and their causes, medications that enhance dry eyes, products and their uses, in-office and at home treatments, continued care, post-operative care, industry warnings and current industry trends in ocular surface disease.
